And, I don't even know what to make of this stuff. I usually call them "the fingers of death" -- but today they are just disgusting...

a break from the rain...
We're finally getting a little break from the rain. Not sure if it's coming back later on today -- so I took advantage and went outside for a bit. There's some creepy stuff going on out there. Ick! I found a toad at the bottom of the pool (sorry, no photo), and these guys floating on top...

Oh, yukkkkk. What the heck are those things anyway? I have some strange things eating my lawn also. You are right, those are pretty scary. I am getting to the point also where I don't even want to go outside for fear of what I am going to find lurking in the grass and on the stone walls. So, what are they anyway???

Ha ha ha! They are some kind of creepy mushroom that I never saw until we moved here. Up until now I've only seen them in the areas with mulch -- but they're spreading to the grass in that section. I'm going to have to get out my "mean" mushroom killing tools and get rid of them.
